There will be 4 Work Nights (practice times) for those who have shown Conformation or taken classes before, starting Wed Feb 22nd. Ring time is 7:00pm in Ring 1 at the DTCCU building. For more information contact ashland@net66.com.
The Winter Conformation classes for the Champaign Illinois Kennel Club will begin on Wed. Jan 11th, 2012 at the Dog Training Club of Champaign-Urbana, located ¼ mile East of the Ford Harris Road and Route 45 (approx. 3 miles N. of I 74)
There will be 6 sessions; the dates are to be as follows:
Jan 11th, 18th, 25th, Feb 1st, 8th, and 15th
Classes are as follows:
6:00pm Jr. Showmanship – For young handlers from the age of 8 through 17 years who want to compete in the Jrs. Ring. (class is contingent on number of youth that sign up)
6:45pm- Beginning/Novice Conformation – For New handlers, puppies and/or dogs just starting conformation showing. This class may move at a slower pace and will cover stacking, gaiting, and general presentation of the show dog.
(Closed to “new” students after Jan 18th unless approved by class coordinator)
7:30pm- Advanced Conformation – Open to all handlers with prior experience. This class will focus on ring procedures and practice perfecting ring skills.
Drop-ins will only be allowed in the 7:30pm. class unless prier arrangements have been made with the class coordinator during this session.
Drop-in fee – $10.00 per hour per person
Please Note- Use your discretion if weather is a question. Closings will be announced on line and on TV and Radio station.
Please bring an updated copy of your dog’s vaccination record including proof of rabies with you on the first night of class to be kept in our files.

Please Remember:
*All participants and their guests are expected to follow the guidelines set forth by both clubs at all times while on the grounds.
*It is required that all participants pick up after their dogs. Use only the areas marked for this purpose. Equipment is available on the grounds along with a proper outside disposal area.
*Remember that humane treatment of your dogs is imperative at all times, but especially while on club grounds.
*Bitches in season are not allowed to participate.
There will be a Conformation Work Night next Wed Dec 7th at 7pm. There is a $10 drop-in fee. We will be meeting in Ring 1 which is down by the restrooms. Please use the double doors on the North end. This will also be our working ring for the next session starting Jan 11th.

Fall Conformation classes began Sept 21st and run through October 26th. 6:30pm Beginner, 7:30pm Advanced.
Work Nights will be held at 7:00pm on Wed Nov. 2nd, 9th, and 16th. These classes are for anyone who has taken conformation classes or shown in conformation shows before. This is a good time to practice ring procedure with your dog.
There will be a Conformation work night on Wed Aug. 10th & 17th at the DTCCU Training Building.
We will meet at 7pm for approximately 1 hour for ring practice. There is a $10 drop-in fee.

The Regular CIKC meeting will be held Tues. Aug 9th in the “Uncle Jacks Restaurant” adjacent to Jupiter’s at the Crossing – 2511 Village Green Pl – Duncan & Windsor, Champaign. Please enter through Jupiter’s and go back into Uncle Jacks.
Dinner will be at 6:30 with meeting to follow. All those with interest in our club are invited to attend!
